Antique photograph signatures

Thanks for the link. It's hard to identify him because not knowing a lot of those actors, it's hard to tell whether it just doesn't look like them in that picture or it isn't them.

FB is a good idea. I was trying to think who I might know of that generation who might recognise him.

The longer I look at the picture, the more I want to keep it LOL That's not really the Christmas spirit though

Have you peeled the back to see if there is any writings on the back of the photo or on the border of photo? Or determined the age?

Use a flat head screwdriver to pry it carefully off from the frame.

I finally got it out. The back of the frame is like plywood in two halves, nailed to the frame itself. There is nothing on the back of the picture. It's on very heavy matte paper, like card, and smells older than time.

This has become a puzzle to be solved!!!

This is definately a still from a movie....from the chaps, it would appear to be the early 1930's or late 1920's.....silent film or early talkies. Check out Buck Jones....his pics from the late 20's look alot like this cowboy. I've ruled out the other more well known ones as the facial features are not matching up.

Good job, looks very much like him but his ear structure is a bit different.
