Antique???!!

I just hatched with one of those old Brower 846's. I'm almost positive that is the temperature not to exceed. I had three thermometers and they all had different readings so I went with the old Brower mercury filled. Must admit though the hatch was not that good-only 50% but, it looked like quite a few of the eggs were not fertile because they didn't even start developing.
I've seen my Dad pull off very good hatches with these incubators. I wish he was still around so I could pick his brain.

it is going to be interesting to find out more about it and when it was made, apparently his parents bought this place back in the 1940's and the barn was here then so it may have been left there since before they bought it. DH says his parent had not raised chicks in the barn, but in another chicken coop, WooHoo this is getting interesting!

Very cool, just dont drop it, seriously someone spilled a bit of mercury downtown once and they called in the hazmat team.

I've seen some Buckeye incubators on ebay from time to time, they are nice looking redwood units.

Is it possible that you accidentally clicked on that word while adding that cute little picture of an old man? Because that colon+old that was posted in the middle of the word is the exact code to post that cute picture (

I'm using a Brower 846 incubator right now, I got it from a friend who got it from an old school. Seems to be working great. The thermometer is like the one in your first pic. Lots of "oldsters" still work great. I also have a new Brinsea Mini Advance, so will be interesting to see which hatches what, or what hatches which, or whatever.
