does anyone have trouble with ants and duck feed? during the summer here if there is a spare potato chip from lunch or a sandwich crust on the patio we have ants swarm around the food. im worried about getting ducklings this summer and having ants invade their food or even crumbs on the ground around where they feed, or will the ducks eat them? is a large amount of ants bad for ducks? worried and nervous to own ducks for the first time!!!

i know that ants have some sort of nutritional value, but i think they also have some sort of acid? cud be harmful? aaaaanyone?

I dropped a bit og chip last year just by their food bowl. It was covered in ants but Ive never had ants in the feed bowl...weird but true. Maybe they dont like duck food.

I was told by people on the forum if i have ants (which i initially did), to put the food bowl in a larger bowl or dish that has water in it, so the ants can't get to the food.

It works perfect.

Here are the 2 methods i use:
