ANTS! Do they pose a threat ??

My husband just put a bunch of mulch I. The chicken run all along the bottom and I went in 10 minutes later and the entire ground it infested with ants a- like SO MANY!!!!! I’m mortified but my husband thinks it’s no big deal.
Should I be concerned? Should I remove all the mulch and pellets we just put down??? That would be a costly move but it would be pretty devastating if this resulted in harm to our chickens/ vet expenses

what would you do??

What kind of ants?
It’s a great treat if they are normal ants.
I once forgot about a bag of mulch and it became a great home for ants to build their nest in. I noticed it before work one day and figured I’d take care of it when I got home. Well when I came home, the chickens had broken into the bag, eaten all the ants and eggs plus spread my mulch for me! They were so thoughtful!

Your chickens will appreciate the yummy snack! Unless they are fire ants, no need to worry.

Thank all! They weren’t fire ants but I went to check this morning and didn’t see a single ant.... maybe ants are smarter than I give them credit for
