Hey everyone. I know there is already an ant post going on, but I have little ants everywhere in my coop. There is one little mound, but thye crawl all over the place. I tried the boiling water thing, what other stuff can I use to sprinkle around? Does the DE kill ants? Please let me know any ideas!! They are taking over LOL...thanks so much

Baby powder works good also once it gets on ant they can't get it off and die. I use to sprinkle it in my flower beds all the time. DE will also work plus I have tried the grits on the ant mounds. But I live in florida so fire ants are a common thing here and hard to control or get rid of.
I also use orange guard which is great and it smells good.

Yes DE works - I put some on a couple of ants that were in a plastic knitting basket of mine, they couldn't climb out and I checked the next day and they were dead! Its not RIGHT away but they will die.

I bought some grits I need to put outside to get rid of the weird red and black carpenter looking ants - I think they're called Field Ants..... we have HUNDREDS of them!

Thanks!!

Is the DE ok to sprinkle everywhere in the coop and around it? The baby powder wont hurt the chicks at all? Fl is where I am too, so I know for sure about the ants everywhere all the time haha. I really cant tell what kind they are...they are kind of red/black and small. I appreciate everyones help.
