I'm in serious need of advice. We're being overrun with fire ants in the duck pen. I wanted to put down some Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) but it hasn't stopped raining long enough. The ants are everywhere and no matter what I do, they just won't stop. I think they're coming up from underground. I'm afraid to let my ducks free range because of the dogs in our neighborhood. My husband doesn't think they will be a problem since they've been fine with chickens that also free range here. I don't want to risk poisoning the ducks. But I don't know what I can do about these ants. Any advice would be super appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Ants HATE crumbled eggshells and cinnamon, if you're looking for a safe way to chase them off. If you have a Costco near you, ground cinnamon is super cheap, grab a couple of them and shake all around very well. Safe for ingestion, too.

Thank you both! I'm going to try both of these. I also ordered a bag of diatomaceous earth. Hopefully one of these will do the trick.
