I have sixteen 23 week old pullets, 3 EE, 4 BA and 9 ISA browns and no signs of any of them getting close to laying, i live in Rhode Island and we now have 10 hours and 10 minutes of daylight, i thought the ISA should be laying soon but no signs, anyone else finally getting eggs and at what age TY

I do not free range and some of the reds and one BA combs are starting to turn red, i have a mix flock of 11 hens that are 10 months old that are laying 7 or 8 eggs a day so i have enough for me and my grandson who eats 4 eggs every morning but family and friends are always asking for fresh eggs, guess they will just have to wait, thank you for your replies.

I have 2 EE pullets this year, one started at 25 weeks, and the other just laid her first egg today at 27 weeks. They definitely both showed signs of being ready (red combs, squatting, sitting in the nest boxes, etc) for a week or two before they actually laid. Hope yours will lay soon too!

Well this morning i went to let the chickens into their run when i heard the egg song from the 23 week old chickens coop, i opened the door to finally see an ISA brown leaving the nest box and there were 2 eggs in the box, i think the other egg came from the BA that has a really red comb.
