Anxious about soon-to-be egglayers

Thanks. I’ve done a little research and so far I like these best. Do they really keep the rain out? We get a lot of afternoon thunderstorms this time of year in central Florida.
Yes they keep the rain out. Im sure there is a situation that rain could blow sideways in to the feeder but it has not happen as of yet and we get some decent storms around here too.

That’s a definite. I see squirrels often. And crows. Never thought they ate enough to make such a difference but apparently so. Ty. Going to have to proof the feed somehow.
I have found that if I put out less feed at a time, the girls eat it up pretty quick and don't leave enough to make it worth it for the chippies....

I just want to tell you thank you so much for referring the hogslat feeders. They’ve been awesome!
Glad they are working for you. Every few days I will pour the dust they create out into a separate bucket if its preventing it from feeding properly then just dump it back on the top of the new food. Virtually zero waste.

I use the fine dust from the bottoms of the feeder pans to make wet mash. The birds think they're getting a treat. ;)
