I have my first year of owning chickens under my belt and boy oh boy it was a lot of learning and still learning daily.
I have 6 hens 2 barred rock 2 rhode island reds and i think 2 australops. Well one of the australops and one RR have begun fighting and the Rr is acting extremely anxious. Sometimes the RR starts it and sometimes the Australop does. They have free food at all times and access to our small backyard and there are 2 small coops and a contained run. So they have plenty of food even tho they act like they are starving every time I walk outside
. We don’t have predators that I know of (we live in town)and they are locked in the fully fenced run at night. I just don’t know why they are fighting and she’s anxious. I have googled it and the only thing I think it could be is boredom. Shouldn’t pecking order already be established?
