Any 4-Her's out there with tips on showmanship?

In the showmanship class the it is the 4Hers job to handle the bird and demonstrate to the judge that they are capable of setting up the bird and interacting with the judge...the best "showman" wins the class reguardless of the bird quality....We aren't talking about the individual bird classes in which the judge selects the best bird in the class.

Ditto, yes, we are talking about showmanship. Just judging the birds is pretty much the same everywhere. No one allowed in row while they are judging bird.​

bird dog, In our area kids must be 8 yrs old and in 3rd grade to be in 4-h. If they are younger they are considered clover buds and not allowed to actually "show" animals.
Is it different where you are?

Yeah around our area you hav eot be in 3rd grade to. I have been in 4-H for 9 years now and this will be the first year I show birds. I was about to put a post like this the other day I'm glad I found this when I did.
