This girl is a mix of 4 different breed in one. Her dad is a silkie/ameraucana cross while her mother is black sexlink. She seem to carry the traits of look from her dad and is going very strong! I just wondered if there's any issue I may need to look out for in term of health due to being mix up with those type. This is my first time actually hatching babies. Yes both parents carries black color genes and yet she's a blonde lol.

I’ve never heard of “barnyard mixes” being prone to health issues. I have heard them called apocalypse chickens though so maybe it’s the opposite? Wait for more opinions though I have never had a mixed chick

You will find out eventually if there is any issue. I am not a chicken expert, but I think it is also have something to do with them being receiving a good start to life.

I had a few mix breed chickens. They are beautiful, curious and vibrant. I don't know what ill healthy they might get, but so far so good, they are all less than a year old.

Mother hens kick them out about 5 weeks old so I have them inside the house. They constantly get feed varieties of food every few hours in addition to their chick starter.

It is exciting for you see her blossom. She looks so cute
