I got a rooster a couple of weeks ago, and he was quite aggressive at first. But we've stood our ground, and he's calming down. He's also now "getting lucky" with his harem of 11, so I think his attention is elsewhere now.
We will continue, however, to keep putting him in his place for safety's sake. Good luck!
Well I don't have an aggressive Roo but I have an aggressive Polish Hen, and its only with me, do you just watch her and see what happens. I have had to walk out of the pen backwards because she chases me, but she has never pecked at me or hurt anything. I don't know if its a female thing or if she is just that way. She is my youngest sons hen, so I hate to do anything to her, but she can be a royal Brat sometimes. She instigates the dogs to bark, but other than that, is pretty okay.
hey thanks for all the advice, i think were going to try reforming him before any other steps are taken. unless someone knows of a polite black roo close by for sale. blk. giant or blk. aussie . jack as we call him, the only reason behind getting him is breeding the girls, and having fertile eggs we can hatch. is that so bad? more advice please---- thanks missy
