You can use watered down pedialyte as well-so I hear. I haven't tried it.Not sure we can get that is Oz. Will check out the fodder store tomorrow, otherwise will either put a bit of sugar in or can you use human electrolytes? Thanks

Yay!!!And he is free...![]()
yay! Glad to hear he is out, lots of people rooting for him!

One looks splay legged have him hobbled haha. Another one pipped under the air sac and hit a blood vessel caught it straight away and helped it out, unfortunately it also didn't absorb all the yolk. It looks a bit backwards at the moment but will see what happens. Out of my 12 Pekin eggs 6 quit early and the other 6 hatched
On a side note what does everyone think about feather sexing? All 11 of my Araucanas have alternating short and long feathers... Surely they cant all be pullets?Feather sexing can only be done accurately if you know what the parents feathering genes are (using a cross between a fast feathering male and a slow feathering female will result in the females being fast feathered and the males being slower feathered.) You can't determine sex by feather sexing in all chickens. Thanks I was pretty happy too. My first hatch and I got 11 out of 12 Araucanas one was fully formed but dead in shell didn't even pip internallyOne looks splay legged have him hobbled haha. You can set him up in a little dish or cup/mug. Just make sure that he is being offered some water and food/mash frequently. I know I have 31 chicks in the brooder from this last hatch and it's looking like almost all my favorites are boys and a good share of the ones that aren't my favorites...lol I hope I am wrong...lolPretty sure you have a clueThanks. Genetics is so interesting! Pity though a hatch full of pullets would have been fantastic! Any advice for one of my chicks, it had wide apart legs so I taped them, but he is still sprawled flat on his face![]()
