Oh gosh. A dozen of them are Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhaubens. I have two bantams (supposedly BLACK Japanese Bantams, but I have to do a little research and see if they start with white on the wings, cause these two have white, so I am wondering if they are truely BLACK Japanese or just Japanese.) We believe a couple pure brown leghorns (I think both are roos) and possibly a couple Chanteclers. The rest to my knowledge are barnyard mixes. I have a couple EEs too.

Oh. Sorry to hear that. If you hadn't tried you would have been wondering if you could have saved him, at least now you know and you tried.
 
Completely devastated! Had a little electrical fire in my brooder. All my little chicks died, pretty much destroyed everything in the room with smoke, fire or heat. The worst thing was my daughter was sleepingin the room next to the one my brooder was in. If I hadn't gone in to check the chicks before bed I feel sick thinking of what could have happened!

omg... I'm so sorry, but what a blessing no boby was hurt or any severe damage to your home. How scary.

Omg I'm glad you caught it in time before too much was destroyed. I'm sorry for the stuff you did lose. :(

So sorry to hear that! Thank God you guys weren't hurt.
 
Thank you all! Upset about the chicks obviously, but so relieved that I didn't lose anything else that could not be replaced. A reminder that you can never be too careful! Not sure if I want to incubate any more eggs after this as much as I loved it :(
