My DH and I are off to Europe for about two weeks, leaving next week. I have family (none of whom have any experience with chickens) that will be watching out for my flock while we are gone. I have left instructions on feeding, watering, and general care, but I feel like I'm forgetting things. They are also getting ready to lay any day(the chickens, not the family!!

), which is also kind of freaking me out. Any suggestions?

My advice: Go have fun!

I would be nervous too. But chickens are really pretty easy to care for. Anyone with any sense of responsibility can do it.

If they are new to laying, you might get some soft no-shell eggs. You might want to clue your chicken-sitter to remove these, lest you come back to some birds who've developed a taste for egg eating.

I agree with wombat. Other than that, have a great time!!!
