Any Advice, I'm setting 3 Emu Eggs for the first time tomorrow.

So I have read 96-97 degrees, 30-35% Humidity until day 48 then stop turning and up it to 50%. But is there anything special to know. Are they like chicks where you dip their beak in food and water, and they just get it? Same brooder temp as a Chick 90 degrees? And they need a 20-percent-protein starter chick feed from what I have read, is that correct? What Brand/kind do you personally feed?

u need the emu farmers hand book. good info! the farmer we got the emu eggs from says he hatches chickens with the emus ,so the emus will learn to eat and drink(emus are dumb) we are also on our second set of eggs we have a thred going check it out (u can learn from our mistakes) congrats on the eggs ... cant wait until ours hatch.
we are going to the stockton show today.

the 2 Emu farmers/breeders that live close to me, start their Emu on medicated chicken starter..they say the medicated food really helps them in the first few weeks, to raise their immunity and helps decrease the possibility of splay legs, etc.

Today I asked our local feed store if they sell Emu starter, and the woman gave me a look like I was crazy, then typed EMu into her search bar, and up came all the Emu feeds they sell, and she says "Actually yes we do... We ha...ve two 50 lb bags?" Apparently I am not the only crazy person in town....


I set the eggs today in the GQF, so Hopefully by March 26th I will have babies! Only problem is that I don't have the Acrylic door on my incubator, so I guess I will just have to listen for babies, I don't know how else I am supposed to know they have hatched, without opening the bator. Maybe I can work out a Web Cam sorta thing?
