Oh my. My neighbor just called and said her coworker has a 5 mo old pot bellied pig that she can't keep. Wants to know if I want it (free). I asked the same thing I always ask...."can it live in the barn with the other animals?"

It has all shots, but not spayed. Parents were 45 and 60 lbs. She comes with a crate and supplies.

Why shouldn't I take it?

You shouldn't take it because you will fall in love with it, teach it tricks (I really did teach mine to sit up), let it follow you around like a puppy, and die laughing when your chickens see it for the first time....like your piggy is from Mars or something. Enjoy, I know you won't be able to resist it!

hey its for free

Take it! I have potbellies and they live in a stall in the barn with a couple goats, sheep, and chickens. I have one that is a free roamer, just out all day never leaves the property, we put it in the barn at night. Have one inside the house nursing a litter right now too.

They are easy pets, will eat all your table scraps too! They all have unique personalities, some are more aloof than others. We pick up a specialy pig pelleted feed made especially for potbellies and they do well on that.

No..you cant eat PBP's!

And as for if they can live with the other animals..mine do..well..with my goats anyways. I just got a week old baby girl and i hope she lives.

I wonder about the pot belly pigs sold around here, they go as low as $50 but I wonder if the are crossed with bigger pigs. Here's picture of one selling for $80:
