Well my very first ever hatch is officially over. Out of 6 supposed Rouen eggs I purchased on ebay from near New Orleans (I'm in Wisconsin) I ended up with 1 duck hatching. Out of 13 Guinea eggs set none hatched. Only 2 developed at all and both were facing the wrong way when I opened up the end with the air cell. Anyway long story short, I now have 1 lone Rouen/ Jumbo Pekin mix . I have been looking all over craigslist for another duckling or chick so it wont be alone but there is nothing around me. Is there anything I can do short of holding the duckling 24/7 that will help it not be so lonely? Oh and after watching an awesome video from metzer farms I vent sexed him and its a boy. I decided to name him Shifu because our Pekin is Po , both from Kung Fu Panda one of my kids favorite shows.
