Any artists out there?

My problem is, that I can't decide on a design for my own characters, whenever I think of a design I like, I always change my mind, any tips?

Well, I can't make you keep a certain design, but you can always make multiple OCs! When I was making one for my (unwilling) younger brother, than I would ask him the following:
Base color?
Stripes?
Spots?
Eye Mask?
Floofy tail?
Beard?
Head hair?
If any of the above, which color for them?
Long-haired, short-haired or no hair?
And, eye color?

Okay, I just realized basically all of my OCs are mammals, so if you want to make a WoF or any other kind of OC, I'm lost. Sorry!

Hoo-boy, you should have seen the character I created for my brother. And the worst part is that I toned it down. He wanted neon-splashes all over the CATS fur, because THAT'S a natural pattern. And he's eleven. He should know how cats work.
