Any artists out there?

THANK YOU for the very kind comment - I can understand why she might enjoy such subjects - you can do them rather accurately or in my case, with more than a bit of artistic license.

When you live in a house full of artists, school projects turn out OK. In fairness, he did all of the parts of this that did not require power tools. (dremel work on the spear point). Mom helped him do the initial sketch on the trireme and then he painted everything else.

He looks fierce! Excellent work, both of you! I really love the little curly waves beneath the boat.

WHOA I LOVE IT!:love

In between chores this morning, I was diverted into creating a watercolor sketch of the bird species that is most often seen at the winter bird feeder here. This Blue Jay is life size and the irregular light patches appear on the photo as I took the pic outdoors in dappled light. Great to take out some time for an art distraction.

Wow! How long did it take?

It was a rather quick watercolor sketch - 40 minutes. It is life size - the branch and bird about 8 x 10 inches on a watercolor sheet of the size 15 x 22 inches - so room for cropping if necessary. Although I have frames and mats on hand, I keep excess paintings like this one stacked as sheets until someone might enjoy having it in their home. Less storage room needed that way. VERY HAPPY that you enjoyed seeing it!
