I've been working on this for a while. Hand engraved liner lock folder. I have recently teamed up with a custom knife maker and need to drop this project for a bit to work on his thing. I completed the bolster ends last night, which were more challenging to do than it had any right to be. I've started some rudimentary design ideas for the final bolster panel. The diamonds in this knife are genuine. I would like to pave a diamond crown on the lion's head.

That's insane. I've always been interested in engraving but I do not have the patience or steady hands needed to work at that level of intricacy.

It is its own specialty career. The circumstances are not ideal, but I am officially self employed and working out of my studio doing fine art hand engraving and fine custom gold jewelry, as of last week. I have a lot to learn yet, I have only been doing engraving for a year or so. I've been goldsmithing for 11 years.

Yeah, I haven't decided what kind of stuff I'm putting up top around his crown just yet. In the same way that the lion on the opposite bolster kind of blends into the leaves, I want this design to channel that same vibe. The design as it is needs a lot of tidying but I don't go through that effort until I have all my design elements all cuddled together and looking good.
