Any artists out there?

Just curious:
Whats everyone’s favorite of my recent drawings?
What’s everyone’s least favorite?
What can I do to improve?

I added reference photos for the ones I had references for.
Note: 1-6, 8, and 10 are not my animals.
All photos were taken by me, except for reference photo for #10, which is found online.

Improvement, well, I’m in no position to give advice, but symmetry and harsh edges. How do you fix this? I don’t know?
Anyway, Art Fight’s begun and I’ve been able to draw a bit today to make up for the few days I missed…I have a very long queue of people I need to draw for :th
Most notably…someone who requested on my hit list had put their chickens up as characters so of course I had to draw them!

Awwwww! If I did that, I’d be up for hours since that’s how my style is.

My favorite is also Hedgie. Least favorite is the chestnut gelding.

As for the hard edges that Amer mentioned: Draw your outlines VERY lightly and fill in the shapes focusing only on shadows, midtones, and highlights. Use soft short strokes to very gradually get your darker values and to avoid the streaks. Be patient!

What kind of paper are you using? Paper can make a big difference! Softer pencils also create darker darks for better contrast.

For accurate proportions: The grid method is good and the smaller the grid squares the more accurately you will draw.

Favorite is probably the horse face.

Least fav is grandparents dog.

I’d try oushing your values further. My favorites are the ones with dark darks and light lights. The ones that are all the same shade of gray just make me feel “Bleh” you know? Even if they’re good drawings, value is the thing that will bring them to life.

Also, you watch Doctor Mike too?!

I'm a beginner artist and I'm always trying to improve so judgement is welcome. I mostly do pencil and colored pencil but I went out look of my comfort zone these past couple days and did a watercolor painting of my cat Maggie.

@Lemon-Drop I like them all. :D I'm in no position to give advice. I'll post a drawing later. Hedgie is adorable.

I think someone mentioned that they only do black and white with mechanical pencil? I used to do that to, but I found a really great set of different pencils that are way easier to get different values with. You might consider trying some like these: https://www.conch-house.com/best-graphite-pencils-for-drawing/ They're just easier to get values with (I understand the love of mechanical pencils though).
