Any artists out there?

I had a couple mins of free time to work on this today :)

Thanks

Hmm ok, that would make sense.
Thanks for the advice but I wish that I had not received it at such a time. Do not tempt me from my sleep with such a rabbit hole! Actually though, thanks for the good advice.
Anyways, here’s practice #1.
I have learned that you should always paint what is farthest back first. 😅 You can always paint details over it but is painful and weird looking to paint what had accidentally been painted over. I also learned how to use white better. Like not lighting with pure white and not shading with pure black.View attachment 3338759
If you're looking for recommendations, I recommend watching any of Marco Bucci's "10 Minutes to Better Painting" series. Even though they're geared towards digital painting, a lot of the information still applies to traditional media.

And also Aaron Blaise's videos, too. He was an animator for Disney's "Brother Bear", but he's a god at literally every medium and puts quite a few tutorials out for each.

And Proko. He's very sketch focused, but it makes for good foundations to paint on.

A little tip for watercolour and accidental paint-overs: After it's dried, you can wet the area you want lifted with clean water, give it a soft brush to lift the paint, then use a paper towel or cloth to pat the area dry.
It should take enough pigment out for it to be hidden when you paint over it, and it shouldn't mix with what you want to keep.

Hope it helps! 🙏

I acquired a pack of colored pens in pink, orange, and green that I thought would be fun to sketch with, and I decided to make a drawing with only those pens and a black pen. I think that they're all ballpoints -- the type for writing, not the art kind.
Surprisingly, they didn't smear at all under an eraser.

The character is Yukari Yakumo from the  Touhou series.
I did have a lot of fun drawing this. I would like to draw more characters from the series sometime soon.

She’s really cute 🥰 I thinking I also have a rack of green, pink, and Orange writing pens, so maybe I will try dealing with them.
