I like the eyes. Personally, I think a foreboding background is key. Just light enough so that you can set the creatures, or dark trees perhaps?

In order to draw fangs I'm going to do the Cheshire cat smile. It's plenty eerie

I decided that the smile took away from the still, slow element. It works for "you ran out of milk Kitty" but not these creatures.

You could make the background blacker than them, so they’re, like, creeping in the shadows.

The only thing I did wrong was overlap the feathers the wrong way.
