I’ve been experimenting with sketching a new style except sketching takes me hours and I felt the need to shade for some reason?
Anyway, drawing a new bird girl.
I don’t like drawing eyes but like drawing noses and ears so why not do the triangle or circle nose people do and just do some dot eyes with expressive brows (which I also like drawing. I also tried drawing sharp angles. Not sure if I’ll keep that though because I hate how no matter how hard I try to make her look like a girl she looks like a dude.
she’s wearing stockings with girders I think but you can’t tell and she has gladiator style sandals. I feel like that would hurt on the landing. Oh well, work in progress.
I modeled her wings after heron’s wings since heron’s look the most human in stance. But six limbs looks fumbly and I don’t know what to do. I can see why Anna drew arm wings because man am I confused. Is it okay if I try that?
What does she do with her arms when flying? Her wings when walking? What would an insect do? I currently can’t think of a living creature with six limbs including the wings. Maybe I just need to make an eight limbed insect gorl.

You can try but trust me its so much less awkward to have arms & wings on the back. I struggled to get wing arms to look good and natural
Edit: Not to mention the functionality. My poor bird people can't hold things while they fly. And ever since I ditched the hands on the wings thing, they can't hold things normally either. Instead I use Bird Logic (TM) aka how anthropomorphic birds in children's media have feathers look/act like fingers. But I digress

Her name WAS Wolfie, but since I couldn't help but make her so kitten-like she's now stolen her mom's old name, Tabby :3
(I really love the new details I added to her design; especially the torn-up corduroys, garden gloves and long spiked collar, though it seems a little out of place. But I see it as her protection similar to what LGDs wear)
