I’m currently working on making watercolor paintings of all my birds. I’ve finished one so far, and have a 2nd that’s a work in progress.

Finished it. I definitely need to buy a white paint pen to highlight the eyes.

Posca pens for the win. They're not cheap but they are 100% worth it.

Wow, I really love the dry brushed look you used with the shading over the back, the shading has a "dappled" look to it that I really like.
I definitely have to agree that a white paint pen can be really helpful to make those eyes pop

If I remember correctly I used a Staples ballpoint 1.0mm for all the lineart on both pieces.
