Any Aseel/Asil breeders or exhibitors here?

That's the first I've heard, but ok.

If your asils have red/orange eyes, then they aren't pure asil. Somewhere down the line, something was added that turned their eyes. I imagine you could interbreed them enough to bring the pearl eye back, since it's recessive.

Ghan/khan asils are supposedly very large asils, akin to Kulang type. I don't have any experience with them, but I know a couple of folks who do. There is also an asil club forum that has some great info regarding them. I don't think you have to be a member to read any of the info.

Btw, I'm not saying your cocker friend is trying to mislead you. He very well could have kept his line pure with no outcrossing, but I reckon he got his start in them from somewhere. If you've seen for yourself that they get 3ft tall, then all's good if that's what you want. You won't be able to show according to the APA standard because they'll be entirely too large weight-wise. However, they would be just fun to look at and bring a little variety to the regular entries.

yes it does take some time to have pearl eyes i breed asils true asils are rare but some people do have them and there are some true owners and true breeders would love to see pictures of yours

My rooster is almost a year old and now has pearl eyes. I am very happy with him :) I have no interest in bantams, so I don't care if I can show or not. I really like this breed, I've always been interested in them, and now that I have some I REALLY like them :)
