The only way I can really tell 100% is when the wing feathers start coming in. More black is pullet, more white is roo. Usually by the end of week one you can be sure
 
Also dont know if you knew this or not...Hatchery chickens don't always follow the rules all the time but mostly girls will have black wash down the front of their yellowish legs, and then the white head spot is crisp and more round looking. I always think I'd it like girls putting on crisp makeup where the boy are more smeared. My guess is chick a is a roo. Don't know the other. Hope this helps.
 
Some people can tell at this age, but it isn't 100%. The best thing to do is to wait until they are a couple weeks old and growing in feathers. Males usually feather in lighter than the females. And, by the time they are eight weeks old, males usually have much larger, redder combs than the females.
