pj_elia the Goffle Brook Poultry in Hawthorne, NJ have Buff Orphingtons? Are you pulling my leg? You know I'd thought a week or so ago I should just email over there and see what they have but I assumed they'd either have egg producing machines or meat birds. When I'd been shut out of the hens I thought I had secured last week I had planned to take the 2 pekin ducklings the guy had too. Later when he told me the hens were gone but he still had the ducks I told him "no thanks" & figured I'd go to Goffle Road Pultry if I still want a couple ducklings and then I'd thought I might as well check what chickens they have. Anyway see what happens when we assume? LOL

Now since I have someone "in the know" when it comes to Goffle Road Poultry do they sell birds just at particular times of the year or are they're sales ongoing as long as they have supply? I mean I'd purchased a couple of pekins from them a few years back but that wass early spring I didn't realize their sales were ongoing into summer? They have a great store but it's a good 35 min. drive and so to go down to get meat and such I just can't bring myself to do it but boy if I was closer I'd never buy chicken at the super market again. We're about to leave for a wks vacation and so I won't be able to do anything untill I get back now and so I told myself I'll not think chicks for a wk. LOL yea right... Anyway thanks for the tips here this is great and yes I'll use your name. LOL
