I like anything by Hugh Nibley, Chris Heimerdinger is fun, and Mathew Buckley (the
Chickens in the Headlights series) had the kids just rolling on the floor!! What's better than a little spirituality mixed in with chickens?
Honestly, though, we read the Chickens books out loud to eachother, and just laughed so hard we were wiping tears away. There's a great learning experience for kids ( why you are nice to everyone, how to learn & listen, joy is in the journey, among other "Christian life lessons"), and lots of fun chickening as well ~ Take for instance the chapter that explores just HOW this family of 7 boys manages to move 30 odd chickens, some goats, and 5 of the 7 brothers (plus dad, he was driving) from the old farmer's place to their place..... in the family van.....without any cages, or trapping devices of any sort.....
If you like chicken books, with a bent towards being a good Christian, and like to laugh, you have GOT to read these books!!
( I think the other one is called Bullies in the Headlights)
