My 26 yr old DD loves the books by Grace Livingston Hill. Her GM turned her on to these years ago. Check this ut:

Do any of you have a favorite Chirstian fictional author or book? Just looking for some books to read. Checked a couple out at the library today and am looking for suggestions.

Also, could you keep my Grandpa in your prayers. He is in the hospital and had a procedure done to drain/flush his kidneys. He'd had bladder cancer and received radiation for it last year. Well, now his bladder is crystalized and is no longer of use, thus backing up into his kidneys. His bladder is not of use any longer and he will have it removed and have to have a bag. He's 84 years old and of the mindset that he doesn't necessarily trust doctors -- has been very blessed and has never had any medical issues until now. So please pray for a good recovery, the doctors, and that my Grandpa will be at ease with treatment, etc. Thank you so very much!

This is a really moving "letter" from my Daddy.... it is especially poignant for me as my father died many years ago, and also for my daughter whose father has never been involved in her life.

And about favorite authors.. I thought I would let all you moms and dads of young girls that the Life of Faith series of Elsie Dinsmore, Violet Travilla, and Millie Keith are GREAT books. My DD has read them all (she devoured them). They are akin to American Girls but they are about very Godly girls. They are discontinued, but still available... get them NOW. Abe's books online still has them.

And thanks for the names of authors! I haven't been reading books as much as I'd like (I have young children) and I decided to make a point to do it. I was at the library and they had a sheet with Christian authors listed and so I found a couple books to start on. Now I've got a couple more names to look for when I go back. Thanks again -- I always like hearing others suggestions on this type of thing.
