Just a really simple hello here and to say that our family so loves the Lord. I'm so fortunate to have a mate who is also so totally in Awe of God. I don't always know why we are led down certain paths but I know there's a reason, sometimes He might be pruning me or sometimes, giving me strength, using me for some purposes but He has a plan....I often feel frail and unprepared to do the Lord's work but I know He will equip us.

I love the King James bible and although we have several versions, all my memory verses are easiest for me in the King James version. I know that I will always be molded and shaped and love the analogy of the Potter's Hands as it relates to God.

We are in a small church.....And led by a wonderful minister. Right now I need to be still and listen where the Lord is leading me as it relates to certain works with our Youth in the Community... Please keep that in your prayers. Love this thread....

Oh yes, the one thing I miss in the new hymnals is the omission of "amen" at the end of the songs.....I'm in the choir and I sometimes slip there. It seems right to sing amen as we did years ago.

There's been some weighty conversations recently in the thread and I would like to share something that my granddaughter said and did today.

We might title this "A Fisher Price Sing-a-Long Tape Player, a little girl, and Jesus".

My granddaughter, Laura Leigh, is a wee little thing, not quiet three and a half years old and weighing in at a hefty 27 pounds. She's full of energy and sharp as a tack. Anything you can explain to her about the sky, a bug, how the dimestore kiddie ride works (she's been known to get off and look under them trying to figure out what they're doing), explain most anything to her...and she'll listen to you attentively. She has an inquisitive mind.

Recently while cleaning out some closets my wife found an old Fisher Price tape player that belonged to Laura Leigh's mother (our daughter) when she was a little girl. Her mother is just finishing up her second year of elementary school teaching so that tells you roughly how old the tape player probably is. I tried to get it to work, put new batteries in, tinkered with it some, checked the contacts, gave it a pretty good going over with my ham radio eyes and deemed it DOA. It was set back in my daughters room for some reason and there it sat...until today.

Our little Laura Leigh was here today and while her "Gigi" (her grandmother) was doing some cleaning she was playing in her (formerly her mother's

) room. She suddenly came running to her grandmother with the tape player playing a child's gospel tape and saying "I fixed it!", all excited about it....and just as suddenly as it had started playing the tape player quit working.

Well, my wife told her it was just torn up and tried to "make it alright" with our granddaughter. Laura Leigh just looked at Gigi and told her that she'd take it back and play with it in her room (even though it had quit working).

A few minutes passed by and suddenly Laura Leigh came running back to her grandmother and the tape player was playing happily. Gigi asked her how she fixed it and Laura Leigh so innocently and with the faith of a child and with her tiny little voice said..."I asked Jesus to fix it with me.....and they all started singing about Jesus!".

My little granddaughter demonstrated what all of us should seek...childlike faith. The weighty discussions of recent days all pale to what this child has so innocently reminded me of....that lengthy discourses, doctrines, interpretations, theologies, and so many other things that we get wrapped up and twisted up in can't save us....

Sometimes it takes a little girl and a tore up tape player to tell us what we really need to know...

....by grace through faith are we saved.

Ed

PS...it's still working.

Ok here's your chance to help. My DS and DIL are moving to the Montgomery, AL, area. My DS is in the military. They need to find a, Spirit filled pentecostal church. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Ghost. Speaking in tongues and the laying on of hands, answered prayer and miracles. If you know of such a church in the Montgomery area please let me know. Thanks

Thanks for the faith of children...When you're at the site, please go under all in a day and read of the miracle hatch and strawberries and more.....I think that children and the faith of the true believer can so lead and guide us....Expect and believe! Amen!

Certainly, bargain, use the experience on your website. Children have a lot to teach us...if we'll let them.

Rancher, I'll see what I can find out up that way for you.

God bless ya'll,
Ed
