Here are a couple of mine. I carved them out of Bass wood and painted them with watercolors.

Wow, those are pretty darned amazing! I love both of them. I didn't know watercolors could look like that painted on wood. You definitely have a talent there!

I started out using acrylics, but in my hands at least, they seem harsh. I think watercolors gives a softer, more organic look.
 
You birds are very nice, good quality work i admire that, great job. I have been carving Mantle grade duck decoys for many years. Here are a few I have left. I like the relaxation it gives me and the accomplishment of the finished product.

Great work! I wish I could carve things. I've always thought it was interesting, but I've never really tried. I think if I could manage to learn how, that combined with my woodburning, would look pretty cool
