Any City Slickers???

We live in the city, in a duplex. Downtown San Francisco is a 20 minute drive and I'm surrounded by multi-story apartment buildings on 2 sides. Being the 44th largest city in the US with a population near half a million.

We grow all the produce we need, raise our own chickens, can and freeze everything we can and have even entered into negotiations with neighbors about getting a dairy goat. It really poses some challenges trying to grow enough produce and keep chickens in an area where we can't even find parking some nights. Our city has an ordinance that any fowl must be kept 20 feet away from any building that is considered a dwelling, ours are at 21 feet exactly! We've started to make our own bread, soy milk (which opens up so many doors) and are setting up a gray water system.

I just purchased a soy milk maker and a bread machine. The bread machine is WONDERFUL--I am still getting used to the taste of freshsoymilk--getting a goat crossed my mind--but they say goats are herd animals and will need a companion...
