Some chicks are just runty. If she doesn't catch up soon, you may be looking at "failure to thrive".

Here she is compared to one of her sistersCould they be some kind of bantam? Or were you exaggerating about them being 1/4 the size of the rest?
I really hope she’s just runty. We love her so muchSome chicks are just runty. If she doesn't catch up soon, you may be looking at "failure to thrive".
I think they came from Hoover’s in St. Paul, MN. That’s where they shipped fromMy guess is bantam. I've raised standard and bantam together before and that's the kind of difference you see. Now, it is possible for them to just have the dwarfism gene independent of being a bantam breed, but I don't know how common that is.You said you got them from TSC--I know they tend to get from multiple hatcheries...where abouts are you located? That might help narrow it down. They're probably from Hoover's. Looking to see what they got now.
That’s a great idea! Thank you!Not a bantam. She just isn't developing very fast. If she was a bantam, she would be fully feathered out like the rest, just smaller.
She looks healthy enough to me. Just give her time and tlc, and she may well pull through. Extra protein from an occasional snack of meal worms or boiled egg yolk might be helpful.
