I have a lavender that didn't go to the coop last night. Found her this morning with pecking sores on her comb and not wanting to walk. Brought her inside and checked her over no other wounds were found so I offered her scrambled egg. She ate most of it but she hasn't drank any water yet. Confinement and rest. Any other advice?

No there was some blood and fresh pecking sores
Fresh, as in not there when you last saw her before everyone else went into the coop last night? Was she in a predator proof pen that was perhaps slightly breached by a predator (fingers through wire)? Could another hen have come out into the pen and peck her before you found her this morning? Do you know why she didn't go into the coop last night? Is she being bullied and doesn't want to be around your other girls? Lots to consider, obviously.

I'm not sure why she chose not to go to the coop. She has been bullied before. Not sure why she is not moving.

If she were my chicken I would spend time with the flock trying to figure out why she is acting the way she is. Chickens can be quite mean to those low on the totem pole. If she is being picked on, is it by one chicken or does the entire flock gang up on her? How does she act during the day around the others? Does she mostly hide? Does she hang around others? Does she avoid them. Does she have space to get away from bullies?

How many other chickens do you have and do they have enough space in the coop? Do they free range? If not, do they have enough room in the run?

Is she kept away from food?

If she has no other injury or other obvious issues, I would try to understand why she is acting the way she is. Once you figure that out, solutions may present themselves.

Hope she gets along well.

Welcome To BYC

Can you post photos of your hen?
How old is she?

I'd check her for lice/mites an any other injuries. Since you noticed fresh wounds this morning, were the other chickens attacking her this morning?

Get her warmed up, offer warmed sugar water or electrolytes to help work her through any shock. Check her over for any injuries etc.
Once she's drinking, offer some wet mushy feed.

Photos of her, the injuries and her poop would be helpful, thank you.
