Any concerns about wild Canada Geese interacting with domestic ducks

I don't usually go onto the island because the bridge isn't stable as it wasn't ever finished. If I fell in, the water doesn't seem deep at all, so drowning isn't a concern as much as my compromised immune system due to meds for psoriatic arthritis. The geese started nesting on the island after neighbors dogs ate their eggs and constantly harassed them on the pond bank. I shared information with the neighbors about the laws that protect the geese and their eggs, and haven't noticed a problem since. I have always looked forward to having the geese and eventual goslings, so I'd love for them to stay. If a problem was going to arise from disease exposure, I imagine my ducks have already been exposed by this point, so I'm going to encourage them to stay

There is a gated housing community on the other side of the road from me. It's called 7 Lakes for its large lakes. A lot of geese stay there. I don't know if the same pair come here every year or not but this pair does not seem to be afraid, at all. The other geese that have stopped by have been afraid anytime I go out to the pond. That makes me wonder if this pair is the same that learned to somewhat trust us last year.

Edited to add that I know they're encouraged to move along from 7 Lakes. The people there pay a lot of money to live there and do not like dealing with the amount of poop the geese leave, plus some of them can be aggressive. So I know they try to run them off, but it's so much water.

I am empathetic to the people that live in this neighboring community, especially the ones within earshot of me. They don't allow chickens so I know my boys annoy them with their crowing competitions and harmonies, but they're right outside my bedroom window and even being a light sleeper, I get plenty of sleep. I doubt they ever hear my ducks.

It’s a shame when people move into an area that is breeding grounds or has lakes etc and then next they are griping because q the water fowl are there walking and pooping in their yards. The geese don’t see it as someone’s yard they just see it as the place they have come to for eons. We had a news story here about a gated community that was going to exterminate the wild water fowl. There was a lot of out rage from outside sources but the story wasn’t followed up which was very sad. I would have loved to know what happened.

That is really sad. The geese that are here weren't always so nice. I was persistent but respectful and it paid off.

Having my own geese boy they are very protective of their space an their mate and their goslings. It’s just them they are awesome parents and take their responsibility very serious. I love it about them.

I am even more convinced that this is the same pair of geese that was here last year. They came over from the far end of the pond just now when I went out to the pond. I took pictures and they didn't seem like wild animals that don't know me. I didn't zoom in, so you can see in the picture that they were close for wild untrusting geese

The land is a hill, so actually this picture makes them look farther away than they were. So this pair is either really trusting of humans (both of them) or they recall being here and how they were treated
