Any concerns about wild Canada Geese interacting with domestic ducks

Its a new exposure every year, how long are the geese there? Maybe you can keep your ducks away instead of keeping the geese away.

Unfortunately it's not possible to keep my ducks up that long. They have a duck house and a small eating area, but no run and I can't put them with my chickens. They'll be here for a while. It's usually a few days of scoping the environment out, then they build the nest (or possibly just fix the nest they used in the past, I don't know how well their nest hold up, as my ducks have started to enjoy using the island as a hangout spot and may have disturbed the nest). Then adding the time it takes to lay their eggs, sit on them, and then hatch. They're here for at the VERY least, a month. Although just thinking about it mathematically, it's got to be more

Once the female sits its 25-30 days till hatch, then they’ll molt so they won’t be able to fly they will raise their young up there till the goslings can fly then they will probably go to where the rest all hang out once their goslings can fly . I love it when we get a pair on our mt river who have a successful hatch it’s so enjoyable to see them with their goslings.

I have never had geese or ducks but with my hundreds of chickens over 50+ years I have always let nature take its course. This means that I haven't been one to feed medicated feeds to them as chicks, nor overly clean and disinfect my coops when adding replacement chickens, and I generally don't remove all the litter when I do my bi-annual coop clean-outs. My belief is that the more my chickens are exposed to potential pathogens, the more robust they become. It has proven to work for me and my many flocks have always been healthy and productive.

My sister lived on the lake about 3 years ago. Many properties are shoreline. Some people not too far from them got 6 Pekin Ducklings in the spring. Kept taking them to swim in the lake till one day they kept on swimming. They eluded capture all summer. Two disappeared but the 4 remained all summer visiting other properties. Many different types of wild water fowl there.
I honestly think everything will be okay..👍
