Any cowshare people here?

I would like to but dont know if there is such a thing around here.

What I have heard is that people that would like to drink raw milk, but cannot because of the law, pay for a "share" of the cow and upkeep whatnot. Then they can receive raw milk without breaking the law.

There are cow shares here but I do not participate in them.

I have found milk from Jersey cows! I feel like I hit the jack pot. I set buttermilk to culture yesterday, made yogurt and Kefir! I have a quart of creme I skimmed waiting for some desserts to top.

Can you tell I am oh so happy?? LOL

I've looked all over my neck of the woods for a cow or goat share, it's like trying to find Gold!!!...

Yes, I do. I found mine through www.realmilk.com. I pay $60 a year to "own" a share in the cow (how we get through the legal loophole in MI.) We then pay $4.50 a gallon for raw organic milk and can have up to 3 gallons a week. The farm I use has it set up like a little shop with large coolers and freezers. You can walk in, get your milk from the tank, buy some cheeses, butter, all types of organic, free range meats, eggs etc..... You are also free to wander around the farm and see the animals and the set up if you wish. We've been doing this for over a year now and have been really happy with it.
