Any docs/ideas for big scar healing? :D (GRAPHIC PIC :))...

Wow glad to know their doing such a good job for you. Thats pretty cool. Emu oil is pretty interesting stuff and I hope it works as well for you as it has for me. Ive had 4 knee surgeries and have 2 or 3 yet to go. Scars on my body dont bother me one way or the other but I like to try to not scare small children with my face which is why I used it.
best wishes

I was really surprised too - I'm more than happy to send them pictures for goodies

Of course, if it does no harm and does well, I'm going to talk it up to anyone I know

I'm not too worried about a bit of a scar, that's expected, I just don't want the "OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED!!!!????" response (like I already get for my arm). It is stays less than an inch wide, I'll be geeked

I have several scars from being sick and hospitalized for a couple months. My nurses and doctors told me to use Mederma once the holes were all closed. I did for about a week, then I decided I didn't care and just let people ask about them.

I have 3 chest tube scars, a feeding tube, and a trache which is most obvious and asked about..I also have a bunch of little ones from PICC lines and other needle type things.

I have pictures if anyone is interested.

Heh, I don't know if its funny or was, but both of my parents have teachers and picc scars....before they were 50.

We should make a scar thread! I would, but I'm on the phone hooked to the iceman, maybe tomorrow I'll start some pics up! Damaged bodies unite! (and not untie!)

If we're gonna have a scar thread, then I'm posting pics now.

This is my trache scar..obviously it's on my throat and is probably an inch long if not a little longer. Miserable, miserable thing to have to deal with.

This is one of my chest tubes and the one that's visible a lot...it's below my collarbone a few inches and probably the size of a quarter. If you're wondering, chest tubes don't hurt when removed.

This is my first chest tube done at the 2nd of 3 hospitals I stayed at..it's on my left side just below my armpit and maybe the size of a nickel. I think it looks like the playboy bunny.

This is my feeding tube scar...the tiny dots are where my "buttons" were holding my stomach lining to the wall of my stomach. The buttons fell off when it was healed and safe to remove. The most painful thing I have ever experienced was having this removed. It was some weird type of tube..most aren't this painful but they thought I would need it longer. If it was still a hole you could fit a finger through it.

And finally this is my 3 chest tube on my right side, a little further down than the one on my left side. It was actually 2 tubes, the first was too small and removed and replaced with a larger tube. It's probably the size of a 50 cent piece if you include all the little scars.

I'll make a new thread tommorrow for scars

I thought I'd make it today with no happy joy pills. Nope. I did manage to weed some of my garden, so I'm getting around more, and the leg looks as fab as I guess it can, but holy ache. Not "danger" pain like some thing is wrong, but the healing pain and reactivating lax and changed muscle pain...from mid thigh through ankle. It's a doozy.

Think doc gave me 60 happy pills....and I may have gotten through, oh 10 now. He was going to give me 80 reg strength but we decided for 60 extra strength. Like I need THAT many!

I am with you on scarring bad - I #1 just genetically do. #2 I am always out in the sun. Every little thing I get done to me (ALOT) I scar. I used to be asked by my girly girl 'looks are important' cousins why I was so rough and let myself get scars and then later on why I didn't treat them and try to get them to disappear. My answer "They are mine - they tell where I've been. Its nature - my nature - and I don't mind"

I had surgery on one of my knees two years ago - luckily the tendon damage was repaired with just a small incision - and i did keep that one covered up (it was fall when i did it - so just wore pants and PJ's till April

) and I can barely tell its there - especially now that I've gotten such a dark tan on my legs this year. But they were talking about it then and lately - they want to operate on both my knees eventually because I guess I have something similar to you - my kneecaps are misformed and slide too freely- I was told this then - but didn't think much of it. But now I've been looking into it - since my knees are giving me such an issue. I am bit on the heavy side - but I do have a lot of muscle mass - but my knees have always given me issues.

So yeah I am not looking forward to it - but I knew years ago it was eventually going to happen with all the knee injuries and the fact that my knees do a 'lock up' at the smallest misteps more often as I'm getting older. (I'm 22 - wow I know not old at all - but with bad knees you feel like it

)

Though I will post on your scar threads! I have a few I could share - lol.

Anyway - good luck on your knee surgerie(s) in the future and I hope all goes well!
