My Peaches is now all alone and very sad. Does anyone have a young duck needing a home that might keep Peaches company and live a very good life in my garden in San Francisco?
Thank you and keeping my fingers crossed for me and for Peaches.

Poor duck. Have you checked Craigslist? Some people near you (Hayward, Milpitas) have Muscovies, which may not be ideal, but mine get along well with my mallards. They may not be very friendly to you, at first, but from personal experience, muscovies tame much better than other breeds.

Or you could try your state thread? North California South California Central California (Not really sure which San Francisco qualifies as, as I'm East coast. Probably central? PA has two souths and then "Pensyltucky," so I'll not automatically assume it's all straight lines and clear-cut borders.)

Peaches is a lovely but lonely Pekin duck! Might you be able to put her in a little cardboard box, with water and food and ship her fastest way possible to San Francisco? I would be there to get her ASAP! She would get a wonderful loving home with me and with Peaches.

I strongly suggest shipping two or three duckling instead of Just one.. The poor thing will be stressed out of it's mind and freezing! It's also not recommended to ship chicks/ducklings over a day as they will need food and water. And when it comes to shipping the water could easily be spilled leaving the duckling alone in a freezing Wet box.

only USPS ships live animals.

2 ducks would keep each other warm if adults. but yes they need to be in transit only 2 days. When I ordered chicks from Purely Poultry this past year they shipped on Monday and were at my PO by Wednesday Morning from Missouri to NC

I know this has nothing to do with this thread but would you buy from Purely poultry again..? I've been looking at some of their geese and have been considering ordering from them.

They are the middle man but yes great to work with and my chicks were very healthy and still are, I ordered 4 female salmon Faverolles to replace some of my older hens that have stopped laying and they sent me 5 all five are flourishing. I would def order from them again.
