Hi all,
I posted back in June (I think!) that my lovely little runner or mix Peaches stopped laying. We are pretty sure she is still not laying almost 4 months later which is a little concerning. She is such a happy duck, she roams and forages all day, has access to fresh food, drinking water and swimming water, fruit veggies and grit daily. We have since added a female Aylesbury (Jemima of course) back in April to try and alleviate some stress from Peaches which definitely worked & they are all very happy together. Someone layed an egg on the 14th of August 2024 and has layed everyday since. I can only presume it’s Jemima laying now as the eggs are white rather than the light greeny colour Peaches was laying.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Peaches was an extremely strong layer before she stopped laying!
Pictures below of doodles of course as well as the difference in eggs.
Thanks so much as always😊

Peaches is definitely a year and a half we’ve had her since a chick. We got Jemima at 1 year old (or around that) and have had her about 5 months so they’re not far off. They’ve all definitely been through there molt but they’re all looking much better now I will try find a better photo
Thank you :)

they’re so pretty. i was just thinking she may have stopped laying during her molt . what kind of feed do you give them and do you give them crushed oyster shells too?

Thank you! I think so too🥰
I did think it was down to molting or/ additionally a general break as I know runners can lay up to 250 eggs a year but we think shes a mix breed but we’re not sure what with which would probably affect her egg average! I’m fairly new to the duck world but they all seem happy and healthy🦆😊
