I have a problem with coccidiosis in my flock. We treated with corid and sulfa d...and though we lost 12 birds (mostly because I'm new to chickens though am a confirmed addict now) it got better. My first subflock of 9 pullets and 1 cockeral had no problems, but my subsequent additions have had difficulty despite being treated with med-feed and I just put all of my flock back on the full med regimen since 2 more birds just died (confirmed coccidiosis by vet/necropsy).
Have any of you experience with this problem?
Does the fermented feed act as a good preventative?
Any info, ideas, advice...is always welcome. I'm reading and trying to absorb as much info as I can as quickly as possible.

Btw, my name is Laura and I have Sulmtalers, American Bresse, Silkies, Cream Legbars, Orpingtons, etc. I seem to not find a breed I don't like.

BSF is Black Soldier Fly larvae

Cocci... two best things to do... cull heavily - eliminate any birds not resistant. Treating for prevention is not the answer - heavy culling is.

And evaluate your management practices. No chicks where you have damp conditions at all or any unsanitary conditions. If you're having a problem at all, consider raising chicks to get them off the ground and then a gradual introduction of dirt/sod to their raised coop.
Yes fermented grains will help overall health. But like most "natural flock prevention measures", it will not solve a current problem. Once your current penitentiary is solved, fermenting and other positive health measures (such as wood ash for dusting for mite prevention) can be great.
First step is to solve he problem... then prevent future problem.

Does any one know if there are any reputable Dominique breeders in East Tennessee? I've considered getting some more of them at some point, but I'd rather not get them from a hatchery. Thanks in advance.
