I'm looking to get some new chicks this year, and have had some trouble finding hatcheries that aren't sold months out. Welp hatchery has what I'm looking for, but I don't know much about it. Any experience with their service? Thanks.

I've never heard of them but taking a quick look at their site, they seem to have a high minimum order requirement. Whether that's an issue or not depends on if you're wanting to add 25+ birds to your flock. It also seems they charge to ship replacement chick orders. It's definitely not one to consider if you only need a few chicks

Thanks for pointing out the shipment return. I'm looking to chickens for myself and a couple friends so the order minimum isn't a problem

Also it doesn't seem the guarantee the sex of the birds you order unless I'm missing something. They will refund or replace any losses that happen in the first 48 hours though

I ordered from them years ago and my chicks shipped from a different state. Was totally confused but after contacting them it seemed at the time they only sold their meat birds themselves and the other breeds were drop shipped from a couple other hatcheries.
Mine actually came from Privett hatchery. Welp was easy to deal with I just wasn't fond of the not knowing their chicks would come from somewhere else.
Chicks arrived alive and healthy no issues. The ones I bought direct from Privett and had no problem then either. Idk how Welp does things now days.
