Im learning Irish-gaelic and french i know some latin which helps out alot with the romance langauges
That's awesome! I've always wanted to learn Irish because I'm of Irish descent. They actually teach weekly lessons at the local Irish pub, but I haven't had the chance to join in yet. How is learning Irish going for you?

Well, I am learning casually, so slowly but surely. I'm not conversational either but I can pick up stuff here and there
Hey, that's the language-learning process! You've gotta start somewhere. It's a beautiful language. I loved hearing people speak when we were in Japan. What made you want to learn it?

Good,my sister has a 365+ day duolingo streak I know some basic phrases
Dia Dhuit(deea dwit)=Hello
Cad is ainm duit(cad is anim dwit)=What is your name
is ainm dom(is anim dum)=Is my name(Put your name before "Is")

I'm learning Japanese on Duolingo. It's definitely not a great app to use for character based languages, but good for the Latin based ones. They had a recent update that made it much better and more Kanji focused, but they also don't go in depth on the rules of "why" for Kanji such as stroke order and such.

As cheesy as it sounds, anime lol. Sure, I may not watch much anime nowadays but I want to be able to watch it in Japanese without subtitles. Current streak on Duolingo is 1616 days

No shame in it! You don't have to have some super meaningful reason to want to learn it. If anything, it's even cooler that you're going through all the effort just to enjoy your shows more. :)

That's quite the Duolingo streak, btw! Wow!

Yeah a few years ago I tried Duolingo for Japanese. I think it is less developed on there than some other languages like Spanish. I have the same problem with Russian on Duolingo. However, it's still a good tool for learning new words and reviewing.
