Here's a fun little thread to talk about scouts BSA, girl scouts, or any sort of scouting organization from around the world! I myself am a boyscout and I think it teaches such great values that are really useful for chicken keeping! are there any things that you wouldn't have known about if not for scouting? How has it shaped your experience with chickens? I love meeting people who have similar experiences, so let me know!

Wow, that was so many years ago!

I was in Venturing, which is a BSA program for older kids (14-21) and wasnt just boys.

I was in scouting as a kid, never finished Eagle (typical "found more interesting things to do at 16" story). Got involved again later with my 2 oldest boys and served as committee chair and an ASM for our local troop for a while. A lot of how I look at challenges in life I learned from scouting, and I try every day to live by the law and teach those values to my 2 youngest ones.
