Truth be told, that’s kind of a tough question to answer without going into spoilers for both.

In TOTK, there are kinda traditional dungeons. In BOTW, they are much different. I can’t go into details on those, because of the story. I don’t want to spoil anything.

The shrines in both games are basically puzzles that give you a reward.

I got a Switch last week, and as I never played BotW, I’m going to go through it first before TotK.

I just got off the Great Plateau and I’ve talked to Impa. I’ve completed a few shrines. Without going into spoilers, are there any traditional Zelda dungeons to find, or are the only dungeons the shrines?

There are dungeons. But in botw they're called divine beasts. You'll figure it out after you get to your first area

As did I. Very complicated traversal. I ended up getting the ones on the fifth floor first by accident. Yunobo I found very difficult to control

I killed 5 lynels IN A ROW in an underground Colosseum for THIS?!?!

Well, at least I got some decent monster parts out of it.
