Very sorry for your loss.My goat didn’t make it he passed in my arms we were getting ready to leave to see the vet
Thanks we talked to the vet and my 4- H club leader and both said they think it was pneumonia casue the way he was breathing and right before he passed he had convolutions and my mom said she had the exact same thing happen to a foal and my club leader said that 80% of babies that open moth breath like that don’t make itVery sorry for your loss.
Aspiration can be so hard on babies.
You would need to look at what other symptoms you were seeing to decide what you think the cause was between your mentioned possibilities in case it's contagious . Aspiration I think could even be the root cause of pneumonia or other respiratory (fungal) infection.
Two decent goat resources...

I don’t think so my club leader do say she has one I can take if I want but I have two other baby’s one is actually Freddie’s brother so I’m focusing on Elton and George ( my other two baby goats) for right now plus I have one goat that has stitches in and also needs some extra careAwwww..
Poor baby. Are you getting a new one?
When he was born he was the first born and it was the moms first time so he was weak and needed to be tube fed and when we got him my friend who I got him from did say that one of their goats was sneezing but it went away in a few days so we think he got that and since his immune system was compromised it was worse it could have not been bacterial but with how it happened we are think most likely bacterialSince your kid was that young, I tend to think he may have had a congenital issue rather than a bacterial one.
