Well, howdy neighbor!

I talked to those people that have the $8 feed, and she said they're working with the department of Agriculture to figure out all the nutritional values of their feed. I'v got about 2-300 birds, so I'm deffinately up for saving some $$, I go through about a bag per day, so ............

What kind of birds do you have?

I've got quail, chickens, pheasants, geese, and, my favorites, ducks.

Hi neighbor.

Have you looked at the prices at Concentrates NW since you are in LaCenter? They are in SE Portland on 8th just north of the Ross Island Bridge area. They have Flax seed (50# for $24), Austran (Austrian?) Peas by special order and perhaps most/all of the other things in your feed. I don't know who the price compares to what you pay. Their number is 800-388-4870.

I'm getting the Cascade food from either them or Urban Farm store, depending upon which one I am at (I can get it at Concentrates because I live outside Portland).

Wow you have a lot chickens too!
I have many bantams (another reason mine don't eat a lot): cochins, EEs, Silkies, and d'Uccles.

LF are: BOs, Golden Sex Links, Golden Campines, EEs, Welsummers, and 4 Golden Lakenvelder chicks in the garage for now.

They keep me busy!

Just fyi. You open your vehicle trunk and then go inside and look at the price list sitting on the counter. When you place the order, someone runs to the back and gets the stuff for you. There's virtually nothing in the store front itself. Spartan looking place but boy are the prices good! And if you are so inclined, feed grade DE is $19.60 for 50#.

Thank you Heritage Hens! I really appreciate the info- and thanks to you for starting the thread Senna95!

Yes, Winlock is pretty far up north... maybe 30 or 40 miles or so. I may make a trip down there after thanksgiving to pick up a few bags. Maybe you'd like me to pick some up for you???

I am getting some of the other feed from the lady that delivers to the fair-grounds exit. I've gotten it before, and mixed it with regular layer pellets. I think it's a little higher in protein then the normal stuff, but that's okay for me, especially when I mix it.

ANYTHING to save on the feedbill!!!

I'll let you know.........
