Smooth, definitely, partridge, agreed likely..as to "he," which I think was just used grammatically rather than with intent, too early to tell.

Nothing indicating roo to me, yet.

ETA: and actually if it is a partridge, only the partridge females get the nice patterning while the males are solid color blocks...and you have some patterning showing already which leads me to believe you've got pullet....IF indeed that is a partridge Cochin.
